Vaccarino Associates has supported both campuses of the University of the Virgin Islands through long-term planning and design services. On St. Thomas, projects included campus planning studies, landscape and seating improvements at the Reichhold Center for the Arts, and the design of a community building that was not constructed. On St. Croix, we were retained for many years in the planning and design of a Research and Technology Park, to be developed first off campus, then on campus as a joint venture with the University. Only one complex, The Innovation Center, was ultimately built, true to the architectural concept but not to the site design, stormwater management strategies, or sustainable practices we had envisioned.
